The roads are full of many types of cars. You will find blue cars and red cars, little cars, big cars, pickup trucks and Hyundai Elantras. And in each of these cars, you will find different types of drivers. These drivers have their own specific traits and behaviors, just like Pokemon characters or the Avengers. It is unfortunate that not all of the characters you encounter on the road are decent. In fact, many of them are downright rude, if not just plain nasty. It begs the question: Which type of driver are you? Sure in your own eyes, you are one of the nice drivers, polite and fair even. That is not to say you have never leaned heavily on your horn for a trivial reason or used your middle finger as a form of communication. But you are quite sure your actions were totally justified. And they may have very well been completely justified. There are, after all, drivers out there who are perfectly capable of ruining your entire day. Groovy Automotive, your auto repair service in Austin, proudly presents this list of the types of drivers you encounter every day.
The Thwarted Some people will do just about anything to make up for their utter failures in life. Man has a strong desire to be masterful, to achieve something and to assert himself and display his mighty power. Of course, most circumstances only prove him to be a loser. An example of this is the man who really hasn't amounted to much at the office or other places of work, so he needs to be the lord of the road to make himself feel better. This is an unimportant person, a sad person who hunts for any way to show people he has power at his disposal. And he does this behind the wheel of his vehicle, which is usually a pickup truck. On the streets of Austin, you will find this type of driver bullying other drivers, cyclists and even innocent pedestrians. He has to get even with drivers who pass him and he will argue a traffic point endlessly, even if it is quite clear he is dead wrong. The Show-Off The show-off is a driver who has never really grown up. He has managed to grow tall, get big and even has facial hair, all the sins of a grown-up, yet he acts like a child who enjoys the look of surprise and wonder on other people’s faces. Obviously, this type of driver suffers a sense of inferiority and tries to cover this up by lamely attempting to look superior. If he would stop and take a look at his actions, he would come to realize just how ridiculous he looks in the eyes of others. The show-off is easy to spot, they will be the driver who drives too fast for conditions, boasts about how fast they can get to work and will pass others in risky places. The Egotist All babies are self-centered. They are self-centered because they have yet to learn how to be unselfish. But as people grow up, they learn that they are indeed not the center of the universe. It’s too bad some people never come to this self-realization. It is even more unfortunate that these people grow up and become drivers. You see, egotists see the world in a different way than the rest of us. Normal people become more social as they age and their interests spread away from the self. They learn to see the world in the light of public good and they acquire social attitudes. The egotist doesn’t learn any of this and remains a selfish baby. And these babies make the worst type of drivers. Egotists are known to turn without using their turn signal, park as to occupy two spaces and will pull out of a parking lot or driveway with looking for approaching cars. That said, there are some good drivers on the roads of Austin as well. But this is a subject we will tackle in a future post. Whether you are a good driver or a bad driver, you still need to have your car serviced on a regular basis. Call Groovy Automotive and set an appointment today.
