Your Austin Auto Repair Shop Offers Great Fall Destinations

Anyone who thinks summer is the best season probably hasn’t seen the aspen trees turn in the Colorado Rockies or the beautiful colors of the forests in Vermont. As far as beauty is concerned, fall wins every time, hands down.
In addition, there are so many cool things we enjoy in the fall including football, haunted houses and pumpkin spice in everything. Sure beats boring fireworks. And you don’t need the air conditioning cranked or to be layered in sweaters and bulky coats because fall weather is like baby bear’s porridge; just right.
In honor of fall, the best of seasons, you should plan a trip to one of the most fall places in America. It will be fun. From coast to coast there are many destinations that would bring thrills and chills for the entire family. But before you take off, pay a visit to Groovy Automotive, your Austin auto repair shop, to ensure your vehicle is safe and ready for the journey.
Door County, Wisconsin
Door County is basically the Cape Cod of the Midwest because it is made up of dozens of towns and a peninsula nestled between Green Bay and Lake Michigan. There are 300 miles of shoreline dotted with wineries, orchards and lighthouses and quite a few pumpkin patched to boot.
Nothing says fall like yelling touchdown with cheese on your head. But if football or the Packers aren’t your thing there is plenty else to do including cheese festivals and wonderfully colored fall hikes.
Louisville, KY
A big chunk of the world’s bourbon comes from this great city and locals love to raise a glass of it and toast one of the many fall celebrations. September is Bourbon Heritage Month so you might want to take that into your travel considerations.
If fine cuisine is what you crave, the Down One Bourbon Restaurant serves a whiskey brisket chili in an addition to 160 styles of bourbons.
Other activities without bourbon include a hike through Iroquois Park to check out the foliage and the annual Jack-O’-Lantern Spectacular which features over 5,000 carved pumpkins.
Katy Trail, Missouri
Katy Trail is a 225-mile trail that runs along the Missouri River for much of the way. It also cuts right through the state’s wine country. This area was settled by German immigrants in the 1800s.
There are plenty of Bed & Breakfasts along the trail in case you need to take a rest while on your hike.
Cape May, NJ
Cape May is a great summer destination, but even better in the fall. The fall is when you will see the monarch butterflies converge on this beach town for a few weeks during their annual migration.
There are several places to eat and wonderful shops along Washington Street or you can choose instead to go bike riding on Beach Avenue.
Lancaster, PA
Lancaster, Pennsylvania is a wonderful place to visit during the harvest season. There are corn mazes, farmers markets full of yummy fruits and vegetables and apple orchards where you can pick your own apples.
About 30 miles away is a quaint little town called Adamstown, which is home to over 3,00 antique dealers and plenty of places that serve Pennsylvania Dutch cuisine.
Ellijay, GA
You didn’t think the south had fall, did you? Well, you were mistaken about that. This little town is about 80 miles north of Atlanta and boasts itself to be the apple capital of Georgia.
Come late October, this little mountain town will be cloaked in golds, reds and oranges. You can enjoy these colors close up by visiting Chattahoochee National Forest and trying any number of their hiking trails.
Aspen, CO
Aspen, Colorado offers much more than just the stunning colors of the changing aspen trees, it offers culture, recreation and great food as well. Aspen is centered in the West’s most accessible and scenic mountain ranges. There are far too many hiking trails to count, you are on your own in finding one that suits you best.
Biking is one of the hottest sports in America and Aspen is the epicenter of bike culture and experience.
The sun shines in Colorado over 300 days a year, and Aspen is no exception so plan on not getting rained out doing whatever your outdoor activities are.
